The mystical saga of their origins
Every few suns, a new creature, no grander than a mortal’s fist, emerges into existence high atop the hill that overlooks the Ten Mile River, in a realm known as The Oblong.
These creatures, dubbed the ‘Ten Mile Monsters’ by locals, radiate a delightful sense of playfulness rather than a frightening demeanor. Though they hold a fondness for the land of their birth, their hearts yearn to roam, to behold new horizons, and to welcome new friends with open arms.
Where they really come from
Heidi starts with chunks of Cosclay polymer clay, a set of glass cabochon eyes, a single long sheet of aluminum foil, and absolutely no idea of who she’s making. Sometimes she adds aluminum wire or wooden dowels, or both. She works until a little creature materializes from the chaos. That’s really how it happens. There’s no plan, just creative anarchy. She makes a new monster every few days; sculpting one day, painting on another. Some days she rests.
